Monika Duszyńska and Michał Kurzyński co-authored the Law & Practice – Poland chapter in the Medical Cannabis & Cannabinoid Regulation 2025 guide published by Chambers & Partners.
The publication is dedicated to the legal and regulatory aspects of medical cannabis and cannabinoid-containing products on the Polish market.
The authors present, among other things, new regulations on cannabis cultivation, licensing requirements for manufacturers and distributors of THC-containing products, as well as restrictions arising from the Polish Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction. The chapter also discusses the controversy surrounding proposed bans on the sale of cannabis products intended for smoking or inhalation, and the lack of reimbursement for medical cannabis-based medicines.
The publication further explores criminal and administrative risks, regulatory gaps regarding uniform THC testing methods, and the most recent changes limiting access to prescriptions for controlled substances.
